AR Workshop Encourages Creativity at the Montgomery County Home and Outdoor Living Show

Everyone can take pride in making an item themselves with guidance from AR Workshop of Cypress at the Montgomery County Home and Outdoor Living Show March 5-6 at the Lone Star Convention Center in Conroe.

“I didn’t know I could learn to do anything creative until I attended an AR workshop in Raleigh, NC, near where we live,” said Rebecca Warriner, owner of ‘AR Workshop Cypress. “My friend persuaded me to take the course. I have never painted anything worth keeping. My friend was right. I had a blast! My family loved my project, I was proud of my project, and it still has our last name on it and all the states we lived in my shop at AR Workshop Cypress.

She immediately brought home the paperwork to apply to be a franchise in June 2018 after completing the course. She was so impressed with the quality of the services, the scope of the products and the enormous confidence she gained from completing a project that she was proud to display. She only told her husband after attending a couples class later that week. They moved to Cypress and in December 2018 she bought a saw, made signs and started moving forward to open her own AR workshop in the town where her family now lived – Cypress.

AR Cypress opened in June 2019 and just celebrated its third anniversary for the holidays. This summer they will have summer camps for children and expect to have over 28 different camps serving over 300 young people. “Children are so proud when they can create something themselves. They choose their own colors, stains and hardware to complete the project. It’s a stimulating way to boost their self-confidence. The children beam with pride.

There are classes for kids, adults, DIY kits to do at home, and they offer custom projects at the request of individual businesses to give as gifts to customers. The most popular items are porch signs, Lazy Susan blankets, and chunky knit blankets. The first project is always the most difficult and AR Workshop accompanies each person to give them the assurance that they can complete the project on their own.

“There’s nothing like the pride you feel when you complete a project.” said Warriner. “AR Workshop Cypress has something for everyone, from a multi-talented artist to someone who has never been a DIYer. We can inspire anyone through the process to create something amazing. incredible.
