Couldn’t make it to the Community Engagement Open House on October 19 at Bluffton Middle School? There is now an online version of the dot polls and poster questions for this event.

Organizers from the Lima-Allen County Regional Planning Commission shared, “Thank you to everyone who attended the Community Engagement Open House. With the help of nearly 100 adults and a dozen young people, everyone had a good time, and lots of great ideas and comments were shared.

“If you weren’t able to stop and share your thoughts on the 19th, please take a moment and complete the final survey now! This is your LAST CHANCE to provide feedback before the Bluffton: Beyond plan is finalized. Help Bluffton create a vision for its future that meets the needs of all its residents.”

The survey will be open until November 9, 2022.

The above survey follows the July 2022 survey, which yielded the following results:

  • 638 respondents
  • 373 villagers
  • 152 works in Bluffton


A small, friendly, tight-knit community with a charming downtown.


Some respondents think Bluffton can be a difficult community for outsiders to welcome.


More than 50% of respondents would pay more taxes to support schools and parks and recreation.


Respondents called for more land use dedicated to restaurants (55%), natural areas/parks (52%), entertainment (49%).


More than 70% of respondents want a faster Internet.


Most survey respondents (61%) were in favor of additional accommodation in Bluffton, particularly for [those] earn less than the median household income of $69,000.


About 52% of respondents are in favor of annexing land to the village.
