LE Bocas Lit Fest will host a creative workshop focused on romance novel writing on March 26th.
The workshop will highlight the elements for creating romantic fiction that grips readers with a combination of surprise and satisfaction.
It will be hosted by Rilzy Adams, Antiguan lawyer by day and contemporary novelist by night. To date, she has self-published 21 books, including Go Deep, The Gift and Ate: An Erotic Novelette. She is currently working on another, a press release said.
In this interactive workshop, she’ll share tips on creating strong characters and also explain the steps to creating a narrative that will keep readers glued to the page.
This workshop aims to continue to encourage other Caribbean writers to explore the writing of romantic fiction and to highlight the genres that exist as subsets of the so-called “standard” – fiction, not -fiction and poetry.
The creative workshops have been a staple of the annual literary festival and are now available year-round, via Zoom, for everyone to access wherever they are, in an intimate group with feedback and support, says the communicated.
The workshop will be held via Zoom from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and there is a registration fee.
