Hyderabad: A three-day online workshop on “Philosophy as a Bridge Between Different Disciplines” featured a special lecture by Professor Rajendra Dengle at the University of English and Foreign Languages (EFLU).
The workshop was organized by the Department of Germanic Studies, Faculty of European Languages, EFLU, as part of the intensification of multidisciplinary and collaborative academic activity promoted by EFLU.
Resource person Rajendra Dengle, a retired professor, who taught at the Center for German Studies, JNU, New Delhi, spoke about the interesting ways in which philosophical concepts and theories connect with the creative products of literature.
The workshop, which concluded with the farewell speech, aimed to understand how philosophical concepts can be used to read literary texts.
Professor Dengle also dwelt on the philosophy of language, literary translation, new media and literature, which are areas of his expertise relevant to the theme.
EFLU Vice-Chancellor and UGC Fellow Professor E Suresh Kumar mentored the Department of Germanic Studies in organizing the three-day workshop aimed at promoting an interdisciplinary approach to languages and Literature.
