Family resource center hosting a free Christmas workshop for children

“We wanted something where the kids could come here and think specifically about giving over the holidays. ”

The event follows another recently organized craft session for children at the center who made little gifts for the elderly in the community. The items were delivered to Northland Pioneers Lodge on Wednesday.

Ebach added that recent programming has been effective in helping families return to the center throughout the season.

“The vacations have been so isolated over the past couple of years, so this year we think it’s a little safer for people to go out and do what vacations are, to get out into the community, to helping people and having a good family time together, ”she said.

“Spreading that little bit of joy, that’s really what we tried to do. It was quite magical to have children in our center.

There are no restrictions for the craft session, and children slightly older than the specified age range are always welcome to participate in the activities. Reservations for the workshop are not necessary as the event allows registrations.

The Christmas workshop will take place at the FRC on Friday December 17th from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm.
