Learn the art of collage at the August 27 workshop | neighborhood supplement

The Noyes Art Gallery, 119 S. Ninth St., will host a collage art workshop on Saturday, August 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Participants will learn about the history of this art form. Noyes artist Deb Brown will discuss basic collage materials and design elements with plenty of time for questions and answers.

Next, Brown will lead students through three collage exercises culminating in a finished piece to take home. The materials required are:

• Black markers and a pencil;

• Two sheets of construction, wrapping, or scrapbook paper, any color or pattern;

• Two-tone acrylic paint, plus white;

• Two medium-sized paintbrushes and scrap paper of any type.

Black paint and scrap paper will be provided for stress-free creative time!

Call the Noyes Art Gallery at 402-475-1061 to register and pay the $60 fee in advance. Payment can be made over the phone. Space is limited.

After the course, participants are encouraged to browse the works of all the Noyes artists. You can also consult the artists’ websites and follow Noyes’ Facebook and Instagram page.
