From phishing emails to illegal robocalls, scammers get creative with how they take advantage of their victims. The COVID-19 pandemic has only compounded these problems, with some scammers asking people to give up their bank account information to receive fraudulent checks, invest in fake businesses and more.

Loughran Cappel urges residents to contact his office with any questions or concerns at 815-267-6119. If anyone is unable to watch the live stream of the workshop, a recording will be available on their Facebook page account at a later date.
