Safe Zone and Trans* Safe Zone courses announced for Fall 2022 semester

The Safe Zone and Trans* Safe Zone trainings, presented by the Ball State University Counseling Center, are back for the 2022-2023 academic year. Virtual trainings are still offered, as well as in-person trainings at the Ball State Multicultural Center.

The dates and times for the Fall 2022 semester have been announced, as listed below:

Fall 2022 Semester Dates, Times, and Locations

Training in secure area:
– August 29, 8am-12pm, Multicultural Center
– September 24, 8am-12pm, virtual
– October 21, noon-4 p.m., Multicultural Center
– November 17, 5:30-9:30 p.m., virtual

Trans* Safe Zone training:
– September 7, 3-7 p.m., Multicultural Center
– October 3, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Multicultural Center
– November 3, 5:30-9:30 p.m., virtual
– December 3, 8am-12pm, virtual

If you want to become an ally/advocate for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning population at Ball State University and beyond, attend these Safe Zone and Trans* Safe Zone trainings, which are four hours each . Trainings are open to students, faculty, Ball State staff and, space permitting, interested members of the wider community.

At the end of the training, participants will receive a Safe Zone or Trans Safe Zone sticker, as well as other documents and invitations to workshops and conferences.
