Tinubu advocates youth engagement in national growth 1 Punch Newspapers

Progressive Congress presidential hopeful Bola Tinubu said on Tuesday that Nigeria’s youth should be meaningfully engaged to harness their talents for the nation’s growth.

Tinubu made the revelation while seeking the support of Gombe delegates, adding that the only way for Nigeria to regain its prominence is to look within.

He also said the government should realize the importance of electricity in the development of the nation.

“We must develop new methods to develop our country. The change in Lagos is just the beginning. We will cooperate with all the states of the federation because one rich man with seven poor men are all poor. We have to work together to help each other,” he said.

He said that even though he came to ask the people to be the President of Nigeria, he can only be there by their votes.

Tinubu pleaded with delegates to choose wisely when choosing the president by choosing him to fly the party flag.

“I have everything it takes to be President of Nigeria. I have the brains, the talents and the courage,” he said.

Earlier, Governor Muhammadu Yahaya of Gombe State in his welcome speech praised Tinubu for his fatherly role in the APC, saying he was not only a father to the party but also a father for the whole nation.

“I know you are a genius at discovering talents and using them for the benefit of the people. We have seen what you have done in Lagos in this regard which has resulted in Lagos alone having three powerful offices in President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet.

“He is the kind of person Nigeria needs right now. A person who can put round pegs in round holes,” he said.
