TMTCS, FDCP roll out series of filmmaking workshops

The Manila Times College of Subic (TMTCS) and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) have launched a five-weekend filmmaking workshop series from June 11, 2022 to July 2, 2022 for high school and college students of TMTCS and other interested young people residing in the city of Olongapo and surrounding areas.

The series aims to nurture budding and aspiring young people in the art and business of filmmaking and teach them the ropes and provide them with hands-on experience under the supervision of experienced, award-winning professionals in the field. The series took place at Dante Arevalo Ang Theater (DAA), Subic Bay Freeport District, SBMA.

During the series premiere (June 11 and 12, 2022), mentors Dennis Evangelista, Pamela Reyes, Joel Saracho and Lilit Reyes gave talks on production management, creative production, acting and script writing. Participants learned the foundations and fundamentals of these four film disciplines. They were introduced to the techniques and tools available to them.

The five-weekend film series culminated in the creation of the TMTCS Creative Arts & Multimedia Program (TMTCS-CAMMP) led by TMTCS President Dr. Dante Ang and FDCP Undersecretary Liza Diño .

TMTCS-CAMMP is committed to providing young people with lifelong learning opportunities and experiences in the field of creative arts and multimedia. This will guide them to hone their skills and talents so that they become pillars of the creative industry in the future.
