Natrang director Balwant Thakur opens a theater workshop in Jammu on Thursday.

JAMMU, December 9: Understanding the ‘Self’ – a large theater workshop focused on psycho-physical play inaugurated here today at the Natrang Studio Theater.
Senior officials from Natrang – Padmashri Balwant Thakur, Suresh Kumar, Dr. Karan Rana and Aarushi Thakur Rana were present on the occasion.
Organized for the benefit of theater enthusiasts in Jammu, the workshop is facilitated by Baljeet Singh, alumnus of the National School of Drama, New Delhi.
Speaking on the occasion, Natrang manager Balwant Thakur informed that Natrang has developed a series of training programs for young people and children to provide a platform for them to explore and express their creativity.
“This Natrang effort is also aimed at bridging the gap in training and practice opportunities hampered by the Corona Crisis,” he maintained as he complemented the expert directors / trainers who have stepped forward to enlighten theatrical aspirants. with their vast experience.
Workshop Director, Baljeet Singh is an actor, director and actor trainer from Sirla-Bhaga, Reasi, J&K who has participated in theatrical activities and worked with several theater groups based in Delhi and Jammu.
The workshop contains the elements of the Alexander Technique to improve the quality of singing, acting, comedy or dance of the actors as well as the methods of Michael Chekhov who considers the actor as a free creative artist appealing to the imagination and psychophysical techniques.
Participants of this workshop will explore this technique during the full, full-time Creative and Technical Training.
Workshop participants are Brijesh Avtar Sharma, Meenakshi Bhagat, Palshin Dutta, Diksha Pandita, Sushant Singh Charak, Kushal Bhat, Gautam Sharma, Prohitdeep Singh and Bhawani Singh Bali.
